Ongoing Formation of Priests: The Sacrament of Marriage

The Institute for Priestly Formation welcomes you to this resource for priests. At the invitation of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life, and Vocations, the Institute for Priestly Formation, along with other organizations, is providing resources especially geared toward priests in their role as marriage formators. In response to the USCCB’s call to further implementation of the New Evangelization, the Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations (CCLV) has tasked itself with developing annual themes for the ongoing formation of priests and the New Evangelization. CCLV has chosen marriage as the theme for 2015 and has identified three areas of special interest: (1) the priest as marital formator, (2) the priest as marriage homilist, and (3) the priest as spouse.
IPF provides the following text and audio files as reflections to draw priests into deeper communion with the Lord, particularly in the sacred beauty of the Sacrament of marriage.
