COVID-19 Updates

A Note From IPF's Executive Director:

Dear IPF Family,

As I write to you from Omaha, in the midst of these troubling days, my heart and mind go out to our many friends, alumni, adjunct staff and faithful partners dispersed in so many parts of the United States and beyond. As we increasingly feel the pain of isolation, and loss of the sacramental life, all the more do we need to rely on the grace of the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, the Consoler, who desires to pour out his gifts on a suffering world. I pray that the Lord may deliver us all from a debilitating fear, even as we know the fears that these days can bring.

Though our life Missions may be interrupted and radically altered (I think of my brother priests in parishes with no congregations at Mass, day after day), our Relationship with the Lord needs to continue to remind us of our Identity as His beloved sons and daughters. Our Identity does not depend on what we do, but completely depends on our Relationship with Him. May we run to Him, abide in Him, stay with Him, no matter what each new day brings.

May we ponder and hear as a kind of ongoing refrain the words of Jesus in the Gospel of John: “Remain in Me . . . remain in Me.” Then, from that place, the Lord will remind us of our Identity, and show us our Mission in this present circumstance. He will move us to concern for those around us who are suffering greatly, and help all of us, especially my brother priests, to know how to reach out to others and provide them the words of hope and consolation that they so much need and desire.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us! St. Joseph, pray for us!

With prayers in the Heart of Jesus,
Fr. Gabuzda
Executive Director
