For Seminary Personnel

The Institute for Priestly Formation assists those who serve the unique environment of forming men to be ordained priests.  Pastores Dabo Vobis, no. 2 states “The formation of future priests … is considered by the Church one of the most demanding and important tasks for the future evangelization of humanity.”  IPF aims to support those who engage in seminary formation in two ways.

  • First, IPF provides tools that assist seminary faculty and staff to integrate spiritual formation across the various components of the formation structure in harmony with the vision put forth in the Program for Priestly Formation, “Since spiritual formation is the core that unifies the life of a priest, it stands at the heart of seminary life and is the center around which all other aspects are integrated.” (no. 115)
  • Second, IPF provides opportunities for those who serve priestly formation to deepen their own bond with Jesus Christ in the midst of their activity on behalf of future priests.    Rooted in Christ themselves, faculty and staff more easily maintain their proper identity in this singular ministry, and they exercise their service to others out of a manifest love for the Lord.

IPF serves not only seminary spiritual directors, but also formation faculty, theology faculty, and administrators.
