As seminarians approach ordination to the diaconate or priesthood, the Church requires that they complete a personal retreat in preparation for this major step in their vocation. The Institute for Priestly Formation is delighted to offer a silent directed retreat to serve men approaching ordination. The retreat will include daily individual spiritual direction, daily Mass, and retreat silence, as well as four personal prayer periods of an hour that the seminarian schedules into his day. In the silent directed retreat the man experiences the Lord very personally for himself and allows the Lord to lead him to the particular grace that the Lord has prepared for him. Daily spiritual direction accompanies the retreatant in noticing how the Lord is present and how the retreatant can respond to the Lord’s invitation into deeper relationship.
The Institute for Priestly Formation offers a silent retreat for those who are about to be ordained deacons or priests. In December of 2024, the retreat will take place at the Our Lady of the Oaks Jesuit Retreat House in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.
