Ongoing Formation of Priests: Priests and their Own Spiritual Lives
The Institute for Priestly Formation welcomes you to this resource for priests. At the invitation of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life, and Vocations, the Institute for Priestly Formation, along with other organizations, is providing resources especially geared toward priests in their care for their own interior life. The initiative from the CCLV states: In response to the USCCB’s call to further implementation of the New Evangelization, the Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations (CCLV) has tasked itself with developing annual themes for the ongoing formation of priests and the New Evangelization. CCLV has chosen The Priest and His own Interior Life as the theme for 2017 and has identified three areas of special interest: (1) the priest and his own need for spiritual direction (presented by Rev. Nicholas Cachia) (2) The Priest and Confession (Rev. Msgr. Gerard McCarren) (3) Priests’ Prayer Life (Rev. John Kartje). IPF provides these audio files as reflections to draw priests into deeper communion with the Lord, particularly in the sacred beauty of their care for own spiritual lives
In collaboration with Catholic seminaries and dioceses, we form seminarians, priests, and bishops in holiness and accompany them in their ongoing spiritual growth, so they can more effectively lead others to Christ.
